Auricular Acupuncture

Auricular acupuncture medication free pain relief with Dr. Tonya Cremin, integrative medicine

With acupuncture, our patients have achieved medication free relief from a wide variety of conditions. This approach may be helpful for pain from fibromyalgia, migraine and tension headaches, arthritis, joint pain, lower back pain, anxiety, digestive troubles and more.

With Auricular Acupuncture, or ear acupuncture, very thin needles are placed gently in the outer ear in order to treat symptoms of pain, anxiety, or other health conditions. Based upon the ancient Chinese practice of acupuncture, the discovery that parts of the body and brain correspond to specific points on the ear was first developed in France nearly 80 years ago. In addition to improving general well-being, auricular acupuncture has been used successfully to treat a wide range of health conditions and ailments such as:

  • Muscle pain
  • Joint pain
  • Nerve pain
  • Arthritis pain
  • Rheumatologic pain
  • Inflammation
  • Insomnia
  • Stress
  • Sinus pain
  • Allergies
  • Asthma
  • Digestive problems
  • Tension headaches
  • Migraines
  • Addiction and withdrawal symptoms
  • Anxiety/depression
  • Mood swings
  • High blood pressure
  • Hot flashes
  • Painful periods
  • And so much more!

Who Can Benefit?

Auricular Acupuncture is a medication free treatment that is safe for everyone from infants to the elderly.

What Can I Expect During a Treatment?

A typical treatment lasts 15 to 30 minutes. With auricular acupuncture, acupuncture needles are inserted and left in place for approximately 20 minutes. The doctor will determine how many needles will be used and how long they will remain in place. Tiny indwelling needles may be appropriate for more chronic conditions and remain in place for anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. Dr Cremin always partners with each patient to determine the appropriate treatment approach and length.
